The time required by any device to fully charge a battery can be affected by environmental conditions and battery condition.
If a battery remains connected to a vehicle whilst charging is undertaken it is possible electrical circuits that remain in operation whilst the vehicle is switched off could draw currents near equal to the output of the charger; under these circumstances the charger will remain in charge state longer than normal and in some instances not indicate the charge cycle has completed.
